ATV/UTV receivers are dissimilar in that they typically terminate near the rear differential generally located forward of the rear bumper or bed requiring that the hitch be extended.

A simple extension (2" Receiver hitch extension) can be used at times but the distance of the extension beyond the receiver makes it difficult or impossible to drive over rough ground (the extension hangs up on the ground every time the operator drives through soft ground or encounters uneven terrain), causing the unit rear wheels to be high centered.

Even a cargo basket designed for a truck (including those with an angled tongue) will perform better through the use of the Hornet Receiver hitch when the basket is intended to be attached to an ATV/UTV.
